"Translation is not a matter of words only: it is a matter of making intelligible a whole culture." - Anthony Burgess
When it comes to translation, we could say I was just like Obelix who fell into the magic potion when he was a little boy. Having grown up in an international environment in contact with 3 languages, it became obvious to me that I had to dedicate myself to translation as I grew older.
My path to get there wasn’t a peaceful one. After I completed my baccalauréat in the French Lycée of Abu Dhabi, I flew to Montreal where I first graduated in International Relations. It is only after a long stay in Latin America during which I learned Spanish, that I decided to start studying translation in order to combine it with my knowledge in political sciences, history, law and economy. This is how I started a Masters in Translation in the prestigious Faculty of Translating and Interpreting (FTI) of the University of Geneva, to offer my services in translation to NGOs and other institutions working in international development. My passion for traveling and good food has also lead me to work intourism. On the long run, I would also like to specialize in literary translation.
I am specialized in International Development (environment, human rights), tourism and communication (websites, press releases, annual reports, newsletters), and in my free time, I read a lot on history and nutrition/wellness.
I am constantly looking for ways to improve myself to make sure I provide an excellent service. A translation is like a new challenge I love taking up. Besides translating, I teach FLE (French as a foreign language) to adults and am a French language consultant for a Language school online. Curious, I travel whenever I can, whether to a small village not far away from where I live or to a new country. It is this urge to discover that lead me to move to Spain in order to immerse myself completely in its culture and its language. Tomorrow, I could easily decide to move to another city or country to get to know new people and live a new and fulfilling experience.
